Exterior care

Exterior Detailing

What is exterior car detailing?

Exterior detailing is a thorough, paint-safe cleaning and enhancement process. It can include pre-washing, hand washing, decontamination, wheel cleaning, drying, paint protection and careful finishing of trims and glass.

How is detailing different from a normal car wash?

A normal car wash focuses mainly on speed and surface dirt. Professional detailing uses safer methods, specialist products and more time to protect the paintwork while achieving a deeper, longer-lasting finish.

Will exterior detailing remove scratches?

Washing and decontamination alone will not remove scratches. Light defects may improve during a machine-polishing or paint-correction service, while deeper damage may require paint repair.

Do you use snow foam?

Yes. Snow foam helps soften and lift road film before contact washing, reducing the amount of dirt dragged across the paintwork.

How should I care for a black car without causing swirl marks?

Use a thorough pre-wash, clean wash mitts, separate buckets, gentle straight-line washing and soft drying towels. Avoid automatic brush washes and never wipe dry dust from the paint, as black finishes reveal even light swirl marks very clearly.

How often should my car be professionally detailed?

Most vehicles benefit from a professional detail every three to six months, depending on mileage, storage, weather exposure and how the vehicle is maintained between visits.

Paint Correction

What is paint correction?

Paint correction is the controlled machine-polishing process used to reduce swirl marks, oxidation, haze and other defects in the clear coat, restoring clarity and gloss.

Can paint correction remove every scratch?

No. Many light and moderate defects can be greatly reduced, but scratches that have penetrated through the clear coat cannot be safely polished away.

Will machine polishing damage my paint?

When carried out correctly, machine polishing is safe. We inspect the paint, choose suitable pads and compounds, and work conservatively to preserve as much clear coat as possible.

How long does paint correction take?

Depending on vehicle size, paint condition and the level of correction required, the work can take from one full day to several days.

Is paint correction worth it before selling a car?

It can be. Improving gloss and reducing visible defects often makes a vehicle look better cared for and can strengthen its presentation to potential buyers.

03

Long-term protection

Ceramic Coatings

What does a ceramic coating do?

A ceramic coating forms a durable protective layer over the paint. It improves gloss, water behaviour and chemical resistance while making routine washing easier.

Does ceramic coating stop scratches?

No. Ceramic coatings can help resist light wash marring and contamination, but they do not make paint scratch-proof or protect against stone chips.

How long does a ceramic coating last?

Durability depends on the coating, preparation, mileage, storage and maintenance. Professionally applied coatings can last from around one year to several years.

Is ceramic coating worthwhile in Yorkshire?

For many drivers, yes. Frequent rain, winter grime and road salt can make maintenance difficult, and a coating helps contaminants release more easily during safe washing.

Do I still need to wash a ceramic-coated car?

Yes. The coating makes cleaning easier but does not stop the car becoming dirty. Regular, paint-safe maintenance is still essential.

Interior Detailing

What is included in an interior detail?

The exact service depends on the package, but it can include vacuuming, compressed-air cleaning, plastics, carpets, mats, seats, leather, glass and careful cleaning of hard-to-reach areas.

Can you remove pet hair?

Yes, in most cases. Heavy or deeply embedded pet hair may require extra time, so it is best to mention this when requesting a quote.

Can you remove stains and unpleasant smells?

Many stains and odours can be significantly improved or removed. Results depend on the source, material and how long the contamination has been present.

Is your interior cleaning safe for leather?

Yes. We select products and methods appropriate to the type and condition of the leather, then apply suitable protection where required.

How long does an interior need to dry?

Lightly cleaned interiors may be ready quickly, while shampooed carpets and fabric seats may need several hours. Ventilation and weather conditions can affect drying time.

Convenient care

Mobile Services

Can you detail my car at my home or workplace?

Yes, where the service and location are suitable. We need safe access around the vehicle and enough space to work without causing an obstruction.

Do you need access to water or electricity?

Requirements depend on the service and mobile setup. We will confirm what is needed before your appointment.

What happens if it rains?

Some work can continue under suitable cover, but heavy rain or unsafe conditions may require the appointment to be rearranged. We will contact you if weather affects the booking.

Which areas do you cover?

We serve customers across our Yorkshire service area. Contact us with your postcode and the service required, and we will confirm availability.
